I added sautéed chopped red and green bell peppers with a diced fresh jalapeño pepper. Added lots of flavor and color. Served it at Thanksgiving to rave reviews. Leftovers were great with eggs in the morning with salsa.

Served this last night alongside white chicken chili and was a huge hit with extended family! I debated including the bacon, but honestly it was the hero of the dish (alongside the pepper jack). I made it in my Staub braiser and was beautiful to bring to the table. Thank you for the amazing recipe- will definitely serve again!

I’m making it for Thanksgiving. I prepped everything but will add the cornbread mix right before I put it in the oven. I think that should be fine.

Will follow recipe using 1 can of creamed corn. But, for the can of regular corn can I sub frozen corn?
